Hoop House - Echo

Partners: Z. Chen, A. Katz, M. Powell, S. Wang, C. Anderegg, O. Tousignant

We designed a hoop house to be used as a  temporary greenhouse at the David L.  Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Our design is placed on the establishment's rooftop garden.

We were given conduit and heat-shrink plastic as primary materials.

Our design focuses on the flexibility of human access and customization of space. Four movable, overlapping modules were put on a system of rails for easy access by the convention center's staff. The overlap between modules as well as the gasket we designed allowed us to minimize the airflow into the greenhouse.
